Cut the InSoFast foam with a snap-off utility razor blade knife. Just score the foam with the razor knife along the indicated vertical or horizontal marks for the chases. With a sharp razor knife you will get a bead free clean cut.
The InSoFast panels are installed by applying a 3/8" bead of foam compatible adhesive such as PL Premium to the surface of the three ribbed attachment studs.
When starting in the corner, place an additional bead of adhesive directly on the foam at the end of the panel to provide adhesion directly in the corner.
The panel is then pressed into place against the concrete surface.
The concrete surface should be clean, free of debris, and dry for the adhesive to work properly.

Running Bond
Use a running bond or staggered pattern when installing InSoFast panels. Cut and snap the first InSoFast panel at the 16" mark with a razor blade. Glue both cut pieces along the studs ribbed surface and at the inside corner edges. Place the longer panel in the corner. Then turn the corner with the shorter piece. Using the running bond pattern locks the panels together forming a large flat even surface that bridges inconsistencies in the existing wall surfaces reducing waste.
At times mechanical fastening may be required. There are three recessed attachment points on each stud face. Use 2-3/4" hex head Tapcon® screws or Gripcon® nails. We have several options to secure the wall. Here we will demonstrate installing a Gripcon nail. Pre-drill a pilot hole with a hammer drill. Make sure you drill deeper than the nail is long. Use a hammer to drive the nail into the wall. Don't overdrive the nail. You can also use a Tapcon or other appropriate concrete screw.
Pulling wires through InSoFast is easy. Make sure your wire is not kinked. Bend the leading edge of the wire so it does not catch in the channels raceway. Slide your wire through to the next opening or junction box. InSoFast raceways are at 1 1/4" deep and meet the electrical code. Standard romex type wiring or Flexible conduit can also be used please consult with your local electrical inspector.
InSofast corner applications are simple and quick. Just mark, cut, glue, then press the panel into place. Use a light tapping on the panel to level and set the adhesive.
InSoFast installed onto a wall with existing conditions like a sink, 4" waste pipe, electrical conduit, and at the top of the wall the floor joist. Pre-cut and dry stacked the InSoFast measuring and layout all the cuts, penetrations and existing conditions.
Insofast can be used as a part of a comprehensive approach to waterproof and finishing a basement. It is common for professional basement finishing contractors to use InSoFast with their interior french drains or trenchs.

Installing Gypsum Wall Board
This video is intended as a simplified guide for the homeowner, and not a guide for the professional. A sheet of ˝" drywall weights 54 pounds and can be difficult to maneuver down a flight of stairs. In our application we chose to pay extra and had our supplier, Miller Drywall delivery the drywall to the basement.
